The nationally acclaimed 237 mile long Katy Trail state park runs right through this quaint town, luring thousands of bike and outdoor enthusiasts to Boonville every year.  It is home to the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales premier breeding facility, Warm Springs Ranch, where you can learn about their in-house breeding and training and meet these gentle giants up close.  Located in the Depot District you can experience the Katy Bridge, the partially restored original train lift span style bridge that was part of the MKT rail line.  While there, check out the River, Rails & Trails Museum and Visitor Center housed in an old grocery wholesale warehouse right next to the Katy Trailhead.  This free museum features sunken steamboat artifacts, railroad memorabilia and a model railroad display, a half scale Lewis and Clark Keelboat as well as an authentic wagon all set to head out on the Santa Fe Trail and so much more.  The museum is designed to be very kid friendly so bring the family and the staff will assist you in making the most of your visit.  While you are there pick up a few souvenirs, and a copy of the historic walking tour booklet which highlights Boonville’s key historic homes and sites around the downtown area. You can also set up your tour for the one of a kind Mitchell Antique Motorcar Museum.  This private collection located just a block away, houses the largest and most extensive collection of specifically Mitchell brand vehicles in the world.  It includes wagons, the only bicycle, an early motorcycle and over a dozen cars dating from 1904- 1921.  This rare museum is a must see while you are in town.  Some other highlights to do while in downtown Boonville are shopping along the historic Main Street, trying your luck at the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel or eating and one of the many great local restaurants.  Farther out you can cool off at the state of art Aquatic Center or take in a round of golf at the Hail Ridge Golf Course.  Boonville, a small town with big adventures!
