Washington can be your hub for both the Hermann and Augusta Wine Trails. With dozens of wineries to choose from, there is no doubt that you will find one to fall in love with. With its lodging, dining, shopping, art and history, this is the perfect place to call “home” while visiting these areas that are designated as American Viticulture Areas. 

Whether you choose a quick day-trip or decide to make a weekend out of it, be sure to visit our lively downtown district with shops that will appeal to everyone! Spring through winter, Washington is host to many events, including the BBQ, Bikes and Blues Festival, Spring Art Fair and Winefest, Washington Town & Country Fair, Brewfest, Fall Festival of the Arts and Crafts, Pumpkin Palooza, Holiday Parade of Lights, and Olde Fashioned Christmas. April through October, outdoor music events are offered at least twice each month. While visiting, make sure to take a stroll on our scenic riverfronts trails or relax under our riverfront pavilion along the Missouri River. 

All four seasons can be enjoyed to the fullest with Washington’s landscaping and cleanliness; so, bring your camera to capture the beauty that is Washington. Getting to Washington is easy by car or train. Amtrak stops four times daily, twice east and twice west. Step-on guided tours are available for tour buses and our own tour bus may also be scheduled for a group coming in by train or car.
